Builders and Sparkle Clean at Dun Cow Apartments Refurbishment (Pub Conversion)

Project Overview:

Towards the end of last year we carried out a full builders and sparkle clean at the Dun Cow Apartments, a refurbishment project involving the conversion of an old pub into four residential apartments. 

The project required a complete internal clean across all units and communal areas, preparing the building for handover following the refurbishment works. 

The Challenge:

Refurbishment projects in older buildings often present additional challenges, with dust and debris settling in awkward areas, particularly around existing structural elements. On this project, there was a clear mix of original features and newly installed finishes, which meant cleaning had to be carried out carefully to avoid damage while still maintaining a high standard.

Dust and residue had built up throughout the building during refurbishment works in corners, edges, and around fixtures. Each apartment required careful attention to remove all traces of construction while bringing the finish up to a standard suitable for the client. 

Our Approach:

We carried out the clean in two stages: a builders clean, followed by a sparkle clean.

The builders clean focused on: 

• Removing heavy dust and debris from all areas
• Clearing residue from surfaces, edges, and fittings
• Preparing each apartment for final detailing 

Once this stage was complete, we moved on to the sparkle clean, which included:

• Detailed cleaning of kitchens, bathrooms, and fittings 
• Internal glazing and frame cleaning
• Finishing touches across all surfaces
• Final checks to ensure each apartment was ready for occupation

Each unit was completed methodically to maintain a consistent standard across the whole project. 

The Result:

All four apartments were left clean and presentable for handover.

By addressing both the heavier construction residue and the finer detailing, the finished spaces reflected the quality of the refurbishment. The developer was able to present the apartments with confidence, knowing they were ready for new occupants to move in.
