Builder’s and Sparkle Clean at Callerton Academy

Quality Cleaning Company Ltd was proud to support Morgan Sindall Construction during the successful handover of Callerton Academy, a modern three-storey secondary school development in Newcastle.


The project required a comprehensive cleaning package, including builders cleans, sparkle cleans, and specialist high-level internal and external cleaning. With work taking place across multiple levels of the building, extensive planning and coordination were essential to ensure the academy was presented to the highest possible standard ahead of handover.

Project Overview:

Callerton Academy is a modern secondary school developed to provide high-quality educational facilities for the local community. As the project entered its final stages Quality Cleaning Company Ltd was appointed to deliver the cleaning package, supporting Morgan Sindall Construction in preparing the building for handover.


The Scope of Works: 

Our works included:

  • Builders Cleans
  • Sparkle Cleans
  • High-level Internal Cleaning using scaffolds and scissor lifts
  • External Window and Cladding Cleaning using 65ft and 85ft cherry pickers 
  • Reach and Wash Cleaning of all external windows during the final handover week


The Challenge:

Large educational developments present unique challenges, particularly during the final stages of construction when multiple trades are working simultaneously to achieve tight deadlines.


With cleaning required across a three-storey building, our team had to safely access high-level internal areas and external elevations while coordinating with ongoing construction initiatives. Delivering the project safely, efficiently, and on schedule required detailed planning, specialist access equipment, and clear communication with site personnel throughout.

Our Approach:

Working closely with  Morgan Sindall Construction, we developed a cleaning schedule that aligned with the project’s construction handover schedule.


To meet program requirements we:

  • Implemented working at height safety measures
  • Utilised a diverse range of high-level access equipment to ensure the job was done correctly
  • Conducted regular quality inspections
  • Maintained close communication with site management throughout the project timeline
  • Adapted our resources as different areas became available for cleaning


The Result:

The cleaning package was completed in line with program requirements, supporting the successful handover of Callerton Academy. 


By delivering comprehensive builder’s cleans, sparkle cleans, and specialist high-level cleaning across the entire development, our team helped ensure the academy was presented to an exceptional standard ahead of opening.
